Cybercrime and fraud alert: please be aware that there is a significant risk in conveyancing of being exposed to cyber fraud in respect of e-mail interception and the security of bank account details/the sending of monies from those. We will never usually give out our bank account details or revised ones to you by e-mail – so never trust any request for funds to be sent from details given out to you in that way.

Please note that, during your transaction, if any money is to be sent to this firm, our bank account details will not change except in exceptional circumstances in which case we would undertake a 2-step authentication process with you first (but still not through email). Phone calls are another common way that criminals target conveyancing clients, so before giving out any information about your matter (especially bank or other payment details) to anyone calling saying they are from this firm, first ensure you ask sufficient details and take sufficient steps to be sure that the call really is from us – even if the call appears to come from our phone number, as numbers may be ‘spoofed’ to make it appear that they are genuine when they are not.
